Statement of interest

(1) Career Officer; (2) Membership Engagement Officer 

I would like to put my name into consideration primarily for the role of Careers Officer and secondarily for Membership Engagement Officer.

As many of you will know, I am currently a Paralegal in the Mayo Wynne Baxter Corporate and Commercial team, working in the fields of both commercial real estate and corporate law. On the 19th November I will be receiving my SQE2 results and hopefully soon afterwards will be admitted to the roll of solicitors.

I believe that as one of the few JLD members to have seen the SQE through from start to finish, and having this as my method of qualification without a formal training contract I am in a unique position to reach out to students and legal professionals to let them know how to be supportive and supportive. Lots of people still don't know what to expect with the SQE and I think I can ensure there is a positive support network for young lawyers in the south east. Many of these considerations also now impact legal executives in the south east and I would ensure that they also benefit from this support.

I am based in Brighton but work all across the South East and would be happy to travel to various locations to host and attend careers events.
