Statement of Interest
(1) VP and Treasurer
Drawing on my background as a Pupil Barrister at 1 Crown Office Row and in event management, I am keen to support the Sussex Junior Lawyers Division as Vice-President. I have developed strong leadership, organisational and communication skills through a combination of legal, professional and voluntary experience, which align closely with the responsibilities of this role.
As a Wedding and Events Manager at Cater London, I managed budgets, coordinated logistics, and led teams to deliver large-scale events to tight deadlines. This experience translates directly to overseeing SLJD’s annual events, ensuring each event is delivered successfully.
My time as a Paralegal at Edward Cooke Family Law strengthened my administrative efficiency and attention to detail, skills essential for maintaining accurate records, preparing agendas and minutes, and ensuring compliance with GDPR. In addition, as Co-Founder of the Save the Children UK’s blog team, I led a group of eleven volunteers to produce monthly articles on current campaigns. This experience taught me how to ensure volunteers felt valued for their time and contributions.
Finally, having been the Secretary of the UCL Graduate Law Society, I am confident in managing finances, drafting resolutions, and providing support to the committee and its members.
(2) Membership Engagement Officer

Having held several committee and events management positions, I have gained the skills needed to manage member engagement effectively.
As a Wedding and Events Manager at Cater London, I coordinated large-scale events and managed client relationships. I am experienced in managing budgets, logistics and client enquiries – skills directly relevant to handling membership fees, responding to member queries and maintaining accurate databases.
My time as a Paralegal at Edward Cooke Family Law strengthened my administrative efficiency and attention to detail, which is essential for supporting membership operations. As Secretary of the UCL Graduate Law Society, I coordinated events and encouraged participation across the student body, fostering an inclusive and active community.
Volunteering at the Citizens Advice Bureau strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with a wide range of people, skills I would bring to engaging and supporting Sussex JLD members. I also co-founded Save the Children UK’s blog team, producing digital content to drive engagement.
I would welcome the opportunity to help grow, connect and support the Sussex legal community.
